Sammy joins K-9s

Sammy, a new bloodhound puppy, funded by Milford’s Walmart, joins the Sheriff’s K-9 unit and begins training. Later in the year, beloved bloodhound Dozer passes away.

Syringe services program opens

Clermont County and Hamilton County Public Health and Mercy Health Clermont Hospital partner to open a new syringe services program. A van from the Exchange Project operates at Mercy on Thursday mornings. By the end of the year, the van will have had 319 visits. Read more

Mercy Health’s footprint in Clermont County grows as it breaks ground on its $18.7 million 75,000-square-foot Eastgate Medical Center at Ivy Pointe. It’s expected to open in the third quarter of 2019.

The Clermont County Public Library opens a new branch in Miami Township. At 35,000 square feet, the building includes the library plus the library system’s administrative offices and support departments. The library has a large computer lab, maker space, a large meeting room, study rooms, a spacious children’s area, as well as a “tower” room designated for quiet reading and studying.

Sammy joins K-9s

GeoWoodstock a success

Clermont County and the Convention & Visitors Bureau play host to GeoWoodstock 2018, with 9,000 geocaching enthusiasts from across the United States and around the world.  Guests enjoy a street party in New Richmond and a mixer at Mt. Carmel Brewing Company, and end the weekend with a trash cleanup at East Fork State Park.

Children’s Protective Services holds its annual Joy of Adoption celebration. In 2019, 24 children in the care of CPS were adopted by 17 families.  Five siblings groups were adopted, and four young people who were 17 years old were adopted. A big thank you to all our families!

We say goodbye to Commissioner David Uible, whose last Regular Session was Dec. 19. Commissioner Uible was first appointed to the Board in March 2012. He was then elected to fill an unexpired 2-year term in 2012, and then a four-year term in 2014. He was a champion for economic development and job growth in Clermont County.
